The name
Why “Finding Quiet”?
“Finding quiet” describes a process — an internal journey of listening for the absence of sound. It is both the outcome and the process of working with and for horses.
Liw believes that an individual, human or horse, should be aligned and coordinated between the major parts that make up the whole: body, mind, and spirit. As humans we tend to over-value, and therefore emphasize, the power of the mind. That can limit the space we give for listening to the body and spirit.
Although horses don’t have the same neuroses as humans, we can tend to project our lifestyle, schedules, and work ethic onto them. Massage can provide time and space — and quiet — so your horse can tune into her body. Through that process, Liw can help her reconnect with her native intelligence and innate grace.
